The Diamond Cipher II ExDrive kit is one of the new Addonics full disk encryption solutions that encrypts and decrypts at the full SATA 6G speed. Designed to be compatible with the original Diamond Cipher drive, the Diamond Cipher II drive kit uses the same drive enclosure, drive cradle and cipher key as in the first generation Diamond Cipher drive. The new 6G AES 256-bit crypto engine is also FIPS 140-2 certified to ensure absolute data security should the drive get stolen or lost. Similar to all other Addonics full disk encryption solutions, the Diamond Cipher II ExDrive kit is simple to use. There is no password to remember, no software or driver needed to install and no special training is required. The best of all, the Diamond Cipher II ExDive kit is 100% OS transparent for easy implementation into any computing environment.

The Diamond Cipher II ExDrive can be used for programming or duplicating the Cipher key code using the Addonics RNG software utility (a software sold separately). This allows users to manage their own key code and is highly recommended for multiple units deployment.

Designed for accommodating any standard 3.5 or 2.5 SATA I, II or III hard drive, the Diamond Cipher II drive enclosure comes with both eSATA and a standard SATA connectors on the back. The eSATA connector allows the Diamond Cipher II ExDrive kit to be used as an external eSATA drive. When connected via eSATA interface, the Diamond Cipher II ExDrive is capable of booting Operating Systems through an eSATA port or add-on card on a computer. The eSATA connection can be converted to USB 3.1 connection by using the Addonics USB 3.1 to eSATA adapter. The Diamond Cipher II drive enclosure can also be used as a removable cartridge via a Diamond drive cradle that fits inside a 5 1/4 drive bay of any computer.
