Exxact OpenCL™ Development Systems

With the beta release of its ATI Stream Software Development Kit (SDK) v2.0, featuring OpenCL™ 1.0 support, AMD provides a free set of tools software developers can use to create applications that are accelerated by AMD GPUs and AMD multi-core x86 CPUs working together.  This is an important step in AMD’s initiative to create a balanced heterogeneous architecture for applications that have numerous functions, some of which accelerate well on multicore CPUs while others are perfectly suited for a GPU’s data parallel architecture.

Because most mainstream applications are heterogeneous in nature, a good development platform needs to take that into account.  Exxact OpenCL™ Development Systems do just that, offering the latest in AMD CPU and GPU technology, including Six-Core Opteron™ CPUs and ATI Evergreen GPUs, that not only enable developers to take advantage of ATI Stream acceleration in their applications but also the opportunity to build applications that leverage all of the system’s compute resources – CPUs and GPUs – to provide a superior user experience.
